Ted Oppenheimer, my relative I always stay with in Chicago, was at the Marriot Marquis right in Times Square. I went up to his room to view the spectacular view that they had at about 1:00 on Dec. 31st. They were on the 35th floor, just about the same level as the ball which you can see in the picture.



An overall view of Time Square. You can see that people are already gathered.



Viewing straight down.



I went down in the crowd afterward to see what kind of view I could get if I wanted to hang around for twelve hours in the cold. Not bad, but I could have easily gotten closer at this point if I had wanted to.



Some people I know: Andrew, Andrei, and Nat from left to right. They are loading film in Andrew's camera. Definately a photo-op that can't be missed.
